We have just come out of a successful EHCP appeal with the outcome our son needed. It is difficult to put into words how we feel; it is a massive relief and I know we couldn’t have done it without Olga’s help. I contacted Olga 10 months ago when I realised the Local Authority wasn’t following their own processes or the law and weren’t answering my calls or emails.

From that first call I felt relieved. Olga knows her stuff. She is very straightforward. She reassured me that we weren’t going mad and that we had a good case for appeal.

Olga has been with us every step of the way; holding the Local Authority to account (not letting them get away with anything and they have tried everything); working with our professionals; building a robust EHCP and gathering evidence to support our choice of school as we know it meets our son’s needs.

It’s been an emotional process. Olga has been patient and compassionate, has been clear on our options and has enabled us to hold our nerve whilst under immense pressure from the Local Authority.

I absolutely know we wouldn’t have got the result we had at Tribunal without Olga’s expertise and support.

The process of getting an EHCP is a bureaucratic and emotional challenge, navigating the council’s systems and understanding your child’s needs. Having a supportive and knowledgeable person by our side meant we could keep going through a difficult period in our lives.

Olga was able to help us to understand how to get the best outcome and, in our case, she was able to make it pretty smooth! We think that this is rare, most people will say how hard the process is very often without getting the correct support for their child at the end.

Finding the words to write this statement has been incredibly difficult as we do not think it is possible to put across in words how much Olga has achieved for our son and us as a family. Olga’s knowledge, passion and steadfast dedication for us has been life changing.

We have had a long and difficult journey, one which we did not know how to navigate. As a parent, there is so much emotion tied up within everything. Having Olga helped us feel empowered and gain knowledge and purpose. Olga worked with us to face that journey and each step of the way, she guided us, informed us and at times she picked us back up when it all became too overwhelming to move forward. Her passion for the rights of the child is second to none and her knowledge of SEN Law is outstanding. This knowledge is paramount when dealing with Local Authorities: we would have found ourselves agreeing to something unsuitable for our son, not understanding our rights.

In May 2022 we finally secured the right provision for our son. He had been out of school for two and a half years. Olga was fundamental in achieving this and we truly know it would not have been possible without her. Our son is back at school, happy and thriving. Most importantly, he has made friends and is starting to believe in himself and a future he thought was lost.

We have to thank Olga not only for her dedication to our son and her utmost professionalism, but on a personal level for her instinctive way of knowing what we needed to do for our son and her unwavering drive to achieve it.

Olga’s involvement in our case was fundamental to reach a solution for our son’s EHCP. She went above and beyond “Earning Trust” with different stakeholders; while steering conversations to avoid blockers. Of course, inclusion is very close to her heart, nevertheless Olga’s openness to ideas/strategies really help to “Invent and Simplify” solutions for all parties. Moreover, she goes deep into details linking dots amongst legislation, case history and hidden statements that allow enough safe margin to have her points accepted during difficult meetings. Olga helped us see the wood from the trees when we were at a loss with what to do in 2021. Our son was really struggling with behavioural issues in school and it was causing us a huge amount of stress. Olga helped us to calmly and rationally communicate with the school, assess the situation, find solutions together, and put them in place. She seemed to completely understand my child after just a couple of conversations with me. She went to observe him in the classroom setting, asked hundreds of detailed questions, and helped us see his behaviour in a different light. More importantly, she helped the school see his behaviour in a different light. With a sympathetic approach, Olga transformed his school experience to a happy one, where he was no longer the “problem child” in the class, and completely disengaged from learning. He became happier and he flourished academically and socially. He went from being required to have a full-time learning support assistant by his side at the end of Reception year, to winning the Form Prize at the end of Year 1. There are still ups and downs, of course, for which Olga is occasionally called upon again! However, Olga taught us how to assert ourselves as parents, without being the “nightmare parent” that I was trying to avoid being. I could not be more impressed by her relentless determination getting my son what he deserved, and I’m so grateful for all her help.

Olga is deeply passionate about what she does and the children and families she works with. She knows the intricacies of the system and law well and is a fantastic person to have fighting your corner. She gets you what you want and what you didn’t know that you wanted or needed. Her expertise is invaluable in this confusing and frustrating SEN world and I’d highly recommend working with her in order to get the best potential outcome.

The EHCP process is an extremely convoluted and opaque process marred by a laborious and challenging system that can make obtaining the support your child needs very difficult indeed. Navigating this requires resilience and immense effort. Attempting it on our own is very challenging and in fact in our opinion it cannot be done properly without an experienced SEND consultant like Olga.

Olga was fundamental in securing our daughter’s EHC plan. Her knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice as well as the inner workings of a Local Authority (LA) has meant our daughter’s plan meets her needs perfectly in a concise, articulate and specific manner. Attempting this journey on our own would have exacerbated an already very stressful process and resulted in an inferior plan which clearly would be of no benefit to our daughter.

At every stage, Olga educated and empowered us as Parents giving us confidence to negotiate and hold our ground with the LA. These vital skills are important moving forwards as there are many years ahead working with the LA – this knowledge provides an exceptional foundation for future reviews.

Many families will go through the process of applying for an EHC plan with no support but we absolutely believe that without Olga’s expertise and guidance our daughter would not have the high quality EHC plan she has today. Take our advice…make sure you take Olga’s.

I worked alongside Olga when I was an NQT. She was the SENCo in the school where I did my first year of teaching. Olga was always there when I needed support with anything SEN related, which was invaluable to me. There was a very high level of need in the school and having only covered the basics in my teacher training, Olga was able to give me practical, hand-on advice for how to support the specific needs within my class. She also helped guide me in matters such as meetings, giving me a thorough understanding of how to ensure any children with SEN were getting all the support they needed and were entitled to, even those with severe disabilities who would have ordinarily attended specialist settings. I thank Olga for her non-judgemental, approachable ad respectful attitude which made me feel like I could ask anything (no matter how basic it may have seemed), and gave me knowledge which I have taken with me going forward into my career.

After many frustrating months of trying to progress my daughter’s EHCP with my local county council (who were ignoring emails, failing to respond to set deadlines, disregarding requests for changes and omitting crucial content) Olga was recommended to me and I contacted her for some much-needed assistance. For the first time since starting the EHCP process, over a year before, I felt like someone was completely on my side. Olga explained the process more cohesively than anyone had previously, helping me understand exactly what my daughter was entitled to, and how the system was failing her.

After carefully going through the draft EHCP along with all the supporting reports and documents, Olga and I worked together to streamline and restructure the EHCP to ensure that my daughter would get the right help for her specific needs. Subsequently, Olga was instrumental in securing a meeting with our local council, where we were able to argue my daughter’s case and finally get the draft passed as it needed to be.

Olga is a passionate, knowledgeable, hard worker, who will fight hard for each case, obviously caring about getting the right support for the children of the families she is working with. She helped me beyond measure, and I would highly recommend using her.

Words cannot describe how intimidating it is entering the world of Special Educational Needs for your child. Despite doing plenty of research and being well informed, we simply would not have been able to navigate the daunting and confusing system of SEN and EHCPs without Olga’s specialist knowledge and expert guidance. Her deep knowledge of the system and the process, as well as often knowing some of the key people and decision makers was invaluable. Olga is an incredibly effective adviser and we valued her direct nature. With her input and reassurance we have managed to secure the best possible outcome our daughter deserved, and was entitled to. We are saddened that the EHCP process necessitates such a battle in order to rightfully advocate for your child, but we were delighted to have Olga fighting in our corner. We were introduced to Olga when our daughter Molly was 2 years old, shortly after we received her diagnosis. We were totally lost, thrown into a world we didn’t understand and after one Saturday morning meeting with Olga at our home, it was clear we were in extremely capable hands. She entered our lives in 2019 and we’ve kept her very close ever since. Beyond this, Olga has taught us both so much about the SEN world, included us in every thought process and gently pushed us to be the greatest advocates for our daughter that we can be and encouraged us at every turn.
